Erasmus+ KA1 School Education "A healthy mind in a healthy body"

The project "A healthy mind in a healthy body (Mens sana in corpore sano)" aims at examining teaching methods and approaches for the integration of best practices in courses of Classics and at enhancing classical values and ideals. The objective is to acquire knowhow for teaching of Classics using new technologies (ICT) and appropriate educational material, already used in European countries for the lessons of ancient Greek. In addition, a second objective is to motivate teachers and students about the value of nutrition and physical activity for a healthy life style.
The project involves a total of 6 experienced teachers, who are competent in the use of Internet and online social media, English and Italian language and are familiar new technologies. The participant teachers undertake the task of dissemination to colleagues, parents and students, in collaboration with school advisors and the Directorate of Secondary Education in the Dodecanese.
The project has two modules. The first one includes a visit to Rome, at a school that focuses on classical studies and the attendance of a relevant course. The second one includes a course at school in Spain with focus on healthy nutrition and exercise.
After mobility, participant teachers will apply best practices and techniques acquired at their lessons. Dissemination to other educational institutions, parents' and guardians’ associations and colleagues in other schools has been planned. Moreover, events and seminars will be held in order to disseminate the results of the project and to improve teaching and learning experiences.
